On August 28, 2014, the BASIS Bugle published its first article. After spending many days familiarizing ourselves with the website and encountering various hurdles, the writing poured out of the students as if they were made to do this.
Every morning, the newspaper staff meets and collaborates. Pop your head into Music 2 during zero hour and you’ll be sure to see students with their noses to their laptops, Asha, our Editor-in-Chief, commanding the room, Neil and Samihan pawing through the latest Sports Illustrated magazine looking for inspiration, Fathima editing away, Nita and Anusha scurrying around the room taking a poll, Andrew critiquing another video game, Luz managing our instagram account, Michael delving deeper into all things fantasy, a lot of laughter, and maybe even the distant sound of Taylor Swift’s newest album playing in the background.
So before you take a look at our own little slice of the world in review (see link at bottom), take a peak at this video, and perhaps feel an inkling to do something extraordinary in 2015.
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 13,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 5 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
