Sit Down Shakespeare

by Brandon Musick

November 21 and 22. If you don’t know the significance of these dates, you should read some more BASIS Chandler advertising, my friend. The 21st and 22nd of November are the dates of BASIS Chandler’s school play. The drama department is performing Honk Jr., the story of a misunderstood duckling trying to find his way home, so it’s literally the ugly duckling. Now, despite your probable knowledge of the story, this is not  an event you want to miss out on. The drama department features stellar actors, singers, and the excellent direction of Mrs. Hughes. This humorous and touching twist on a classic story will not disappoint, and will leave you wanting more.

Actors include Talia Trepte, Vinay Chand,  Rhea Arvind, and Brandon Musick. The aforementioned Mrs. Hughes is the director, with Mrs. Cook as the music director. Show your school spirit this year by supporting the student actors who have poured time and effort into this project. Help to reward your schoolmates while having a great time yourself!

Opening day is Friday, November 21, at 7:00 PM. But don’t fear, if you cannot make it on Friday (or you just want to see the show again), there is another showing on Saturday, November 22, also at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5 for students, and $7 for adults. So write it down! Tell everyone you know! Get all of your friends to come to the best performance of the season! You won’t be disappointed, I guarantee it.
