As the first trimester of the 2014-2015 school year comes to a close, the BASIS Chandler Bobcats are preparing for upcoming trimester finals and the Autumn Spooktacular. Fully involved in both academics and extracurriculars, our students are definitely keeping busy. With spirit week and basketball tryouts, this past week saw even more energy in the Bobcat den. (Not to mention all the excitement for Halloween next week!)
The Senior Perspective:
Aside from the usual routine, Chandler’s seniors are working hard on their college and scholarship applications. The first trimester flew by with the initial excitement of being a senior and researching potential colleges, majors, and careers to pursue. Getting to the end of this first trimester, our seniors are realizing that they are half way finished with the year since capstone courses end after the second trimester.
Looking ahead to Senior Research Projects, the coming days hold incessant excitement for the senior class. As we reflect on ourselves to write our essays, decide where we want to apply, and seriously consider what we want to do with our lives, it’s hard to deny the impact that BASIS Chandler has had on us. We are shouldering the responsibility and honor of being the second graduating class of BASIS Chandler’s high school, and first class to complete all four years of high school at BASIS. After three years and three months of life in the BASIS community, I think it’s pretty safe to say that we have, not only imbibed the spirit and essence of BASIS, but also lent to it.
Just this past week we entered our names into Mr. Bowley’s system for our diplomas. As teachers write our recommendations, and we toil to write the perfect college essay, I think we’re managing to keep senioritis at bay as much as possible. Although months away, Graduation Day seems just around.
The class of 2015 is a close group, and we are making the best of our last months together!
Until Next Time,
